Where do my kids fit in?
At Pearl Street United Methodist Church we hold fast to Matthew 18:1-5
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is teh greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
2 He called a little child and had him stand among them.
3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is tshe greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.
We also believe that it is parents' responsibility to teach their children to Love The Lord. Deuteronomy 11: 19-21
19 Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are getting up.
20 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
21 so that as long as they sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the LORD sware to give your ancestors.

We ask that your children sit with you in the pew for half of the service so that they can learn by your example, and be part of the worship service. Children are dismissed for Sunday school during the offering and spend the rest of the service time learning in a more age specific environment. When the service is over you may come downstairs and collect your children or we will meet you in the back of the Sanctuary.
