You found our website and now I invite you to our neighborhood church on the western edge of Lancaster City. We have been located at the corner of Pearl and Second Street for over 100 years. Our ministry continues on in the neighborhood and beyond.
"Pearl Street Live" the last Sunday worship of the month, the School Uniform Bank for schools in Lancaster City and our Story Time Club are a few of our ministries that you might want to check out.
I lived most of my life in Lancaster City. Pearl Street Church was my home church since about 1978. My call to ordained ministry came through this church and then I served as the pastor from 1998-2002. In July of 2011, I was appointed again as pastor here. It is like coming home again! I invite you to come and see! Pearl Street Church is full of opportunity for you to find a place to belong and a place to serve the Lord you love. Place: Barth Hall, Pearl St. UMC - 133 Pearl Street, Lancaster. Time: 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cost: $8.00 and children 10 and under Free. Take outs are available. ************** Lenten Book Study Beginning Monday, February 27th at 1:00 p.m. at the Otterbein UMC Bible study will be held. The book we will be using is The Final Words by Adam Hamilton. The cost is $10.00. There are some scholarships available. Please order your book early so we order enough. ***************** School Uniform Bank - Change in way requests are handled: There will be a way in which requests for school uniforms will be made Beginning January 1, 2012, we are asking all social service workers who are aware of a student who needs school uniforms to have the parent/guardian contact the student's school to make that request. We will no longer be filling orders for uniforms from social agencies at the church. This change was necessary for us to better manage our resources and volunteer help available at Pearl Street Church. Pearl Street Church remains committed to serving as many school children with uniforms as we possibly can. Also, anyone wishing to donate new or used clothing, please drop them off 9 a.m. - noon weekdays. Please call the church office, 393-8892. Monetary donations can be mailed to School Uniform Bank, Pearl Street United Methodist Church, 133 Pearl Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. A full uniform costs about $25.00. Students in the Lancaster School District are required to wear navy or khaki bottoms, and white, light blue or navy tops (collars, no insignias) ************ Monday - Bible Study at 1:00 p.m. in the Office building - Herzler meeting room.
